Warning: There is some mild language here, maybe coarse language to others(to me it’s not really anything, then again, I curse like a sailor apparently.)
“Daddy, where are you going to first?” Cazi-despite being firmly lectured on it-waddled outside to see her father off.
“Cazi, you’re supposed to be in bed resting.” He knelt down to hug her.
“But Daddy, I wanted to see you off too.” Cazi pouted. He sighed and shook his head at her, before gently kissing her head. “Where ya going to?”
“Out East, baby girl, and I’ll be back as soon as I can be.”
“I promise baby girl.” He whispered, kissing her head again. “Now, go to Grandma-ma and have fun, okay? I’ll be back before you know it.” She nodded, wrapping her small arms around her grandmother’s leg and watching her father mount the black dragon and fly into the sky.
She didn’t move until she couldn’t see the black speck anymore and even then, she stayed. Until she fell asleep and Valka carried her inside and placed her in bed.
“Sleep, my sweet one, your father will make sure you’re alright.” Valka whispered softly, kissing the little girl’s blazing forehead.
“Things couldn’t be worse, Toothless.” Hiccup groaned, burying his head in his hands.
“Astrid’s gone, both of my sons-gone, my father’s not here, and now my daughter is slowly dying because of some stupid curse.” He punched a cloud and nearly fell out of his saddle.
“I’ve no idea how to fix it and now I’m going on some fool’s errand to a side of the world I’ve never even heard of in hope’s in finding out how to cure some stupid ass curse from ink. Ink of all things.”
Toothless hummed in sympathy not sure what else to do.
“I can’t even imagine who it would be. Alvin’s on our side now, we scared Dagur off. So I’ve no idea who would have cursed us unless it’s one of his cousins out for vengeance.” Hiccup fell silent for a moment.
“Well, more like, one of his cousins using the excuse of vengeance to wage war.”
He fell back in the saddle watching the clouds pass.
“That stupid blood-thirsty family causing all this fucking shit.”
Toothless made a sound deep in his throat mocking a laugh that at least put a smile on Hiccup’s face.
“I don’t even know what I’m looking for.” Hiccup sighed, sitting up in the saddle. “I suppose signs of life I guess.” Just as those words escaped his lips, an entire village rouse before him, just beyond the mountain.
Author’s Note: Hiccup is at level 6 of the Inventor career and he is at level 5 of the logic skill and 6 of the handiness skill for his Lifetime Wish.
